Health
All pets must be healthy and free of any contagious illnesses. If your pet is exhibiting any symptoms that may suggest illness, please take your pet to the veterinarian. Dog's Day Out is not staffed for skilled veterinarian care and may not be able to handle geriatric pets, pets in heat, or other pets needing significant care.
Parasites
All pets will be checked thoroughly for fleas and ticks. If any are found, your pet will be treated immediately and at the owner's expense, before being allowed to enter the boarding area.
Behavioral Problems
No pets will be accepted for boarding if they show signs of, or have history of, severe aggression or severe separation anxiety. A daily handling fee may be charged for pets that are very difficult to manage.
Age of Pets
Due to the health needs of geriatric pets, we do not board any dogs 15 years or older. Any dog over 10 years of age must first spend the day with us for evaluation. Puppies must be at least three months old and have completed the initial three rounds of booster vaccinations and a bordetella vaccine.
Personal Items
All items must be clearly marked with permanent marker with your pet's name. We cannot be held responsible for any item left with your pet.
Treats/Food
We highly suggest you bring your own food to help keep your pet from obtaining an upset stomach due to switching foods. If you use your own food please send it premeasured into individual baggies by meal. Our room service food is Purina Pro-Plan Chicken and Rice Formula, which is at no additional cost.
Medications
We can administer any oral or topical medication as needed. We request that prescription medication be provided in the prescription container with only the amount needed for the stay, along with clear written instructions.
Toys/Bowls
Please limit three toys per pet. Please understand there is a risk of misplacing these items during our sanitizing procedures, so we request that you do not bring any special items. Please do not bring any bowls as we provide stainless steel bowls that are disinfected properly.
Bedding
Dog's Day Out provides all guests with bedding. Towels and small blankets will be accepted. Large beds will not be allowed as it is a very labor intensive task for us to wash such items and most times our washer and dryer cannot handle such items. Likewise, large bedding can cause obstruction in front of doggy doors.
Crates
Crates will not be allowed to be placed in any of our accommodations as our staff needs to easily observe your pet at all times.
Accommodations
All of our guests are treated in a 5-star manner regardless of accommodation; however Dog's Day Out reserves the right to reassign pets to a different suite or kennel run if they become destructive, overly aggressive, disruptive, or exhibit the need for a more quiet atmosphere.
Combining Family & Non-Family Pets
We will never allow pets from other family's board together or play together with the exception of Doggy Daycamp.
Medical Attention
Dog's Day Out strives to provide a safe and clean environment for your pet but if a dog falls ill or becomes injured, we will make every reasonable effort to reach you with the contact information provided. However, if Dog's Day Out is unable to reach you, we will seek the appropriate veterinarian care at the owner's expense. Dog's Day Out will not pay any portion of vet expenses associated with seeking medical care for your pet if so necessary.
Cancellation Policy
During peak periods and holidays, a deposit is required per enclosure. This deposit will be deducted from the boarding cost at the time of check-out. Customers who do a "no show", "no call", or do not cancel within 7 days forfeit their deposit. We require a minimum of a three day stay during holidays.
Holiday Surcharge
There is a holiday surcharge for boarding and daycare of $5.00 per pet on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.
Service Exclusion
In order to provide for the safety and security of our customers, pet guests, our employees, and our business, Dog's Day Out reserves the right to decline service to any individual or any pet if we so choose.
Abandoned Pet
In the case of an abandoned pet, Dog's Day Out will comply with Chapter 70 of the Texas State Property Code.
